What is a Christian Nationalist?
A Christian Nationalist in the United States of America believes that the success of the USA is part of God's Plan, that prayer should be allowed in schools, and that the government should declare that we are a Christian nation and advocate for Christian values. President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, is considered the global leader of the Christian Nationalist and Christian Right Movements. Gerald L. K. Smith ran for president in 1944 on the America First party. He is more famous for erecting the "Christ of the Ozarks" statue in Arkansas and for coining the term "Christian Nationalist." He led and promoted Christian Nationalism. He was a racist, an anti-Semite, and a Nazi sympathizer. "The Christian nationalist not only does not disapprove of atrocities committed by his own side, but he has a remarkable capacity for not even hearing about them." — George Orwell, Notes on Nationalism MSNBC Professor Joseph Williams Politico
